Bangladesh Bureau of Education Information and Statistics (BANBEIS) is the only government agency for collecting, storing, distributing and disseminating education information and statistics in the education management of the country. Bangladesh Bureau of Education Information and Statistics (BANBAIS) started working as an attached office of the Ministry of Education in the fiscal year 1976-77. The organization is involved in continuous multifaceted development in the field of education and has been recognized by national and international organizations for creating and delivering educational content. Currently Banbase is playing an important role in ICT training and ICT education extension in the education sector apart from educational information and statistical activities. Upazila ICT Training and Resource Center for Education (UITRCE) is the field office of Banbase. At the upazila level, the field level activities of Banbais are conducted through UITRCE centers. In the first phase, UITRCE centers have been established in 125 upazilas. On March 2, 2016, the Honorable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina inaugurated these 125 centers simultaneously through video conference. From the day of inauguration, ICT training and other activities of Banbase are being conducted in these centers. In the second phase, the work of setting up UITRCE centers in 160 more upazilas is going on. Centers will be established in the remaining 207 upazilas in the third phase.
